We at Cascade Auto Shipping, ask that you attempt to order transportation service at least 10 days prior to your requested pick-up date. Traditionally, pick-up of your vehicle will be between 5 and 10 days. If, however, your vehicle is available immediately, we will attempt to work with you on your preferred dates.

How long does it take Cascade Auto Shipping to Transporters a motorcycle?

There are several factors that affect transportation times:

  • Varying pick-up times
  • The total distance between pick-up and delivery
  • Uncontrollable factors such as weather conditions, traffic, and truck maintenance
  • Trip planning
  • Generally, most coast-to-coast moves take between 10 and 14 days.
  • Transit times up and down the coasts range from 3 to 10 days.
  • Inclement weather, traffic, and truck maintenance may lengthen transit time, depending on their severity.
  • Trip planning and route coordination is determined by current orders. For example, if your motorcycle is the last to load and the first to unload, the transit time will be drastically reduced. If your motorcycle is the first to load and the last to unload, the transportation time will be lengthened.

Can I pack things in my motorcycle?

We at Cascade Auto Shipping prefer not to ship personal belongings with your motorcycle. Personal belongings that are inside the motorcycle at the time of transport are not insured. Cascade Auto Shipping is not responsible for objects that are not part of the motorcycle. If you have saddle bags there is usually an additional charge. Please let us know prior to ordering.

What is the difference between an Open and an Enclosed Motorcycle Carrier?

Generally, an Open Motorcycle Carrier is similar to those you see transporting motorcycles to and from dealerships. These motorcycle carriers range in size and capacity. Vehicles that are moved via an open motorcycle carriers are exposed to inclement weather and road conditions.

Enclosed Motorcycle Carriers also range in size and capacity. Since these motorcycle carriers are covered, the vehicles in transit are not subjected to inclement weather or road conditions. Enclosed motorcycle carriers are recommended for custom and exotic motorcycles.

Vehicle Shipping Payment

Is Cascade Auto Shipping insured?

Yes. Our insurance covers the value of any vehicle that we transport.

What happens if I’m not available when the truck comes to deliver the vehicle?

We try to keep each customer well informed during the entire shipping process. It is our policy to call the customer 12 to 24 hours in advance of delivery to establish a more accurate estimated time of arrival and to work out specific directions. We ask that you make yourself as available as possible. In the event you are not able to take possession of your vehicle upon delivery, your vehicle will be placed at a terminal as close to your home as possible. If your motorcycle is placed at a terminal, you, the customer, will be responsible for all terminal and holding costs. Even though a motorcycle is placed at a terminal, it is still possible to provide door delivery at an additional cost. The motorcycle will not be released until all funds are settled with both Cascade Auto Shipping and the terminal.

Where will my vehicle be picked up and delivered?

Home/Door Service
The vehicle will be picked up as close to your home as possible. In some cases we ask that you meet our truck at a mutually appealling location such as a supermarket or some other large parking lot. This is due to the typically large size of the trucks and the inability to maneuver through many streets, and under low bridges, wires, and branches.

Terminal Service

With Terminal Service your vehicle will either be picked up or dropped off at a terminal. While we try to find a terminal as close to your home as possible, usually within 20 miles, this distance is not guaranteed.

What can I do to reduce my price?

We hope that the higher level of service you will receive from Cascade Auto Shipping is well worth the cost. With us, you get more for your moving dollar. True, there are other carriers, but can you put a price on peace of mind?

Do I need to empty my gas tank?

No. You don't need to empty your gas tank but we do ask that you have it at or below a half tank. Full gas tanks my leak out during transport.

What if I need my motorcycle now?!

Special express services are available at an additional cost. Please call us for details.

How far in advance should I schedule the transport of my vehicle?

We recommend that you do it as fast as possible but you have up to a week to let us know.

What is the differance between open and enclosed carrier

  • Open Carrier
This is vehicle transport that does not protect your vehicle from the elements. Your vehicle is exposed to the weather, but the transport companies can fit more vehicles on their truck and this lowers the cost of transport. Damages from the elements are rare, but can occur. Most people are willing to take the small risk to save a considerable amount of money.
  • Enclosed Carrier
This is vehicle transport that protects your vehicle from the elements. Going Enclosed can protect your vehicle from weather, rocks and theft. In most cases enclosed transport will cost double of what it would cost to ship on an open carrier. These companies have more experience with high end vehicles. Enclosed companies tend to give more personable service for each car they ship.

Will my motorcycle be insured during transport?

It is very important to understand the coverage policy your transport will include. In most cases we offer insurance beyond what your own policy may cover and what their standard cargo insurance covers. It is advised that you read your own insurance policy and review the transporters policy carefully. Always make sure you cycle is covered fully.
